In Nasarawa, NYSC swears 1,895 corps members

At the Magaji Dan-Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi, Nasarawa State, the National Youth duty Corps (NYSC) formally swore in 1,895 Corps members of the 2023 Batch C, Stream 1 for their national duty.

Governor Sule’s representative, Mr. Ja’afaru Ango, the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, opened the three-week orientation course and congratulated the Corps members on their academic success, which cleared the path for their national service.

He gave them assurances about the government’s steadfast dedication to their security and well-being.
“Let me state clearly that Nasarawa State enjoys peace. You can therefore feel secure about your overall well-being, welfare, and security. Governor Sule informed the Corps members, “Security is a priority of my administration as indicated by the robust synergy between the state and security agencies.”

He also expressed his administration’s resolve to help the scheme in achieving its main goals and praised the commitment and hard work of all participants, the NYSC management, and partner agencies.

“We will keep giving the assistance required to demonstrate the scheme’s ability to fulfill its goal. I urge you to abstain from any negative vices and engage in your Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training, which will equip you for economic development, as I wish you a successful, trouble-free, and fulfilling orientation course,” he continued.

Alhaji Abdullahi Jikamshi, the coordinator of the NYSC program in Nasarawa State, commended the Corps members for their excellent training response and fast adjustment to the camp setting since the orientation course began.

Additionally, he thanked the governor for attending to the state’s NYSC demands, especially those pertaining to the building of a multipurpose hall with a capacity of 3,000 and the addition of staff hostels.
