Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State and minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has cautioned Sim Fubara, his successor, against undermining the democratic system that allowed him to ascend to prominence.
At a book event at Rivers State University on Friday, Wike issued the warning.
Fubara attended the event as well.
Speaking to Fubara about the current turmoil that shook the Rivers State House of Assembly, Wike told him he could halt state government “and nothing will happen.”
“Do not be misled if I say there will be problems; there will be problems. You can’t sleep, and that’s what I need; I don’t need to win. People will hold you accountable for your lack of performance; I’ve completed my own eight years,” stated Wike.
You are all well acquainted with me and my battles with the former governor. A political structure will call you to order if you are a member of it and you are acting against it.
“It’s not about hurrying to court; we can all rush to court.” I’ll respond to everyone when it’s appropriate,” he continued.
