AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara State, has appointed Olamilekan Aileru, a specialist in drugs, as a Special Assistant on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control. The state cabinet also includes 28 other aides.
The appointments announced on Saturday included special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, and technical assistants, according to a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.
With an emphasis on developing policies in the crucial area of education, the governor appointed Dr. Adetola Ariyike Salau as Special Adviser on Education.
Originating from the Ifelodun local government region of the state, Salau is a well-known education policy specialist with a focus on STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), where she has authored multiple books and articles.
Prior to May 29, 2023, she served as the Lagos State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant for Education.
Salau is a doctorate holder in Curriculum, Instruction, and the Science of Learning from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
She received the best graduation award from Fordham University, where she earned her first degree, and a master’s degree from Syracuse University.
Additionally, the governor named community leader and public relations specialist Alhaji Saadu Salahu as a Senior Adviser and Counselor.
The governor has also reappointed Mr. Kolo Majin Isaiah, a Patigi community leader, to the position of Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, which he previously held.
The governor also appointed the following persons: Salihu Jemilat (Special Assistant, SDGs); Abdulmumini Kane Habibat (Technical Assistant, Grassroots Empowerment); Ahmed Usman Babakano (Special Assistant, Non-Governmental Affairs); Lawal Abimbola Monsurat (Senior Special Assistant, Women Mobilization); AbdulKareem Alimat Motunrayo (Technical Assistant, Grassroots Empowerment); Falilat Saka (Technical Assistant, Grassroots Empowerment); Abdullateef Atolagbe Adebara (Special Assistant, Humanitarian Affairs); Mindadi Umar Ndagi (Senior Special Assistant, Social Development); Isiaka Yakubu Agodi (Senior Special Assistant, Grassroots Sensitisation).
Alashi Obasanjo (SSA Domestic Affairs); Caleb Ono Bobi (SSA, Non-Indigenes Relations); Comrade AbdulKareem Onagun (SSA Labour); Engineer Yusuf M.O. (SSA Infrastructure); Abdulmutalib A. Moreover, the governor named well-known young tech enthusiast Kayode Ishola as his special assistant for digital innovation.
Ajayi Peter Femi (Special Assistant Social Mobilization), Olateju Rashidat (Special Assistant Urban Markets), Muhammed Abdullahi (Special Assistant Inter-Community Relations, Fulani), and Ogundele Joseph Olabisi (Special Assistant Local Community Outreach) are the other new hires.
