‘Truth Has Prevailed,’ Gawuna says as court dismisses Abba Yusuf as Kano Governor

Nasiru Gawuna, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Kano, has praised the Court of Appeal’s decision to remove Governor Abba Yusuf from office.

Gawuna stated that truth has won when the Appeal Court upheld his victory in the state’s March 18 governorship election, according to a statement he signed and provided to media on Saturday in Kano.

Gawuna expressed her delight with the decision and said that the tribunal’s and the appellate court’s rulings have confirmed that the legal system is the final resort for the average person.

He added that his goal is growth and development by raising the standard of living for state residents and citizens, and that the appeal court’s affirmation of his election would undoubtedly boost democracy.

“Glory be to Almighty Allah for securing our victory at the Gubernatorial Election Court of Appeal today,” he declared.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Court of Appeal for its decision, which maintained our triumph in the Election Petition Tribunal. Democracy will undoubtedly be strengthened by the appeal court’s validation of the truth.

Using this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to the judges of the election tribunal and the court of appeals for sticking to the facts and ensuring that justice was served.

“The judiciary is the common man’s last hope, as both rulings have confirmed.”

Speaking further, Gawuna declared that the triumph was for all state citizens and residents and urged support from all voters, regardless of political allegiance.

“This is a victory for all of the State’s residents and citizens,” he continued. As a result, I am asking everyone to work with me and my running mate, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, to progress Kano, regardless of their political allegiance.

“I must express my gratitude to Sen. Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, our friendly National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the two ministers from Kano State for their support.”

“I would also like to express my gratitude to Alh. Abdullahi Abbas, the hardworking State APC Chairman, Party Executives, Members of the National and State Assemblies, Chairmen of Local Governments, and Party heavyweights from ward to state level.”

“Our goal is to achieve growth and development by raising the standard of living for Kano State’s people and residents.

“I’m urging the people who live in this state to maintain their composure and follow the law.”
