Osun Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, an agency of the Osun State Government, has disclosed plans to construct three agro logistics centres for the purposes of keeping and processing farm produce coming from various parts of the state.
The plan was disclosed by the O’RAAMP Project Coordinator, Mr. Rasaq Okediya, while featuring on a radio programme ‘Imole Ayo’ monitored in Osogbo on Saturday.
Okediya said Governor Ademola Adeleke was committed to the development of rural areas in the state, hence, his decision to release counterpart funds which enabled the agency to settle its debts and run operations.
Explaining further activities of O’RAAMP, Okediya said the excellent performance of the agency under Rural Access Mobility Project-2, made Osun and 18 other states selected among the participating states in the next phase of the project.

He said, “O’RAAMP will, among other things, upgrade some kilometres of rural roads, while spot improvement would be done on rural roads, with routine maintenance and regular rehabilitations.
“The newly added component – agricultural marketing – would focus on the construction of agro logistics centres in the three senatorial districts using the multi-dimensional indicators as laid down by donor partners.”
Appreciating the support of the state government, for providing an enabling environment for the agency to operate, Okediya appealed to host communities where the agro logistics centres would be constructed to cooperate with O’RAAMP staff when work commences on the projects.
