Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya said on Tuesday that Nigerians would soon reap the benefits of the elimination of fuel subsidies.
Yahaya made this declaration in Gombe on the start of the state’s palliative distribution programme for its citizens.
He said that President Bola Tinubu was working with the state governors to make sure that the hardship brought on by the elimination of the petrol subsidy will stop.
According to him, a lot of investments are being made to help Nigerians escape the current financial struggles they are experiencing.
We pray that this trial will end by God’s grace, and with the resolve of the President and the governors, we will see to it that Nigeria becomes stable.
“We will act quickly to put an end to the hardship that the removal of the subsidies has caused.”
“The main cause of the hardship is the elimination of fuel subsidies, but the Port Harcourt refinery is starting up again today.”
He declared, “There is no reason why such products that are made locally will cost as much as what it is costing the people now. Soon we will have our locally refined petroleum product getting to the people.”
The governor promised brighter times ahead and thanked the state’s citizens and Nigerians for their patience after the subsidy was removed.
