A Bauchi based female journalist, Hafsat Abdulhamid Adebayo, is in dire need of a brain tumour surgery to save her life.

The 38-year-old journalist is currently battling for her life at the ICU section of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) where she had been admitted for weeks.

Speaking with journalists at the JUTH on Monday, July 15, her elder sister, Aishat Abdulhamid said Hafsat has been battling the sickness for four years.

She said: “Until now, she had sought medical help at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) but her condition kept deteriorating” her sister told journalists.

She added: “She has really suffered a lot. We have spent all our savings. Friends, family and colleagues have really tried to support us as well.”

“She had a surgery last year with the intervention of the Bauchi State Government where the tumor was evacuated and was recovering at home.

“We are currently at the JUTH. We were told that she has to undergo another emergency surgery. As we speak, for more than a week, she cannot eat, talk and walk. The consultant told us that she will have the operation this week.

“We appeal to Nigerians to assist us, may God bless you.”

The mother of three is appealing for financial assistance from well meaning Nigerians to undergo an emergency brain tumor surgery.
