Dr. Steven Andzenge has been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the new executive director of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (Nig.) Limited.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, May 23, in Abuja by Willie Bassey, Director of Information for the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), according to PM News. The declaration added that Steven Andzenge was appointed for an initial term of four years that began on May 16 and ran through last week.

Andzenge held positions as the chairman of the Presidential Visitation Panel to Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto and an Executive Commissioner of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission prior to being appointed. Andzenge was congratulated by Buhari on the appointment and advised to use his wealth of experience in completing his task.
Seven days before President Buhari leaves office and turns the reins over to Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, the appointment of Andzenge has been made. The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proclaimed Tinubu the victor of the presidential election held on February 25. Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), as well as other opposition parties and candidates, have all rejected Tinubu’s declaration.
