Former manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu who is popularly called Eezee Tee has reacted to a recent emotional video of the artiste where she accused him of paying bloggers to tarnish her reputation and spread false rumours over her son’s paternity.
LEADERSHIP recalls that Chinwo alleged that Eezee Tee used bloggers to hurt her reputation because she refused to join him in his fight against other prominent figures in the gospel scene like singer Nathaniel Bassey and Pastor Jerry Eze.
She recalled that in 2019, Eezee Tee wanted her to sign a contract she thought was dishonest, and she did not agree to it.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Eezee Tee denied ever threatening or intimidating the singer, stating that he was the one who was subjected to attacks instead.
The record label manager stated that the outburst of emotions and tears by Chinwo in her video were all “tricks.”
“What do you expect of someone who can perfectly imitate the voice of a child and sounds so real like she’s a child? She’s a fantastic actress,” he said.
He pointed out that in 2019, Mercy had reported him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which he feels was a way to undermine him.
Eezee Tee added that he did not speak up before because he wanted to solve the problem quietly, saying he now feels that he must talk openly about it since his attempts to make peace were viewed as weakness.
“Even in the face of injustice, I chose silence. When you involved the EFCC to detain me, I remained silent.
“When I sought resolution through the Multidoor Court, I remained silent. Even when I filed a lawsuit to protect my human rights and prevent further harassment, I still chose silence.
“But then, you maliciously manipulated the system, obtained a bench warrant against me, and published it globally.
“This is not just about me—it’s about transparency, fairness, and standing up against unjust actions.
“Sometimes, silence is mistaken for weakness, but let me assure you, truth always prevails. Facts are stubborn,” Eezee Tee said.
He stated further that he approached several notable Christian leaders, including Bishop Humphrey and Bishop Mike Okonkwo in his effort to settle his dispute with the singer all to no avail.
In another post, Eezee Tee shared the statement by his lawyers Maxwell Opara & Associates where he accused Mercy Chinwo of refusing to submit herself to a mutual independent auditor while also claiming the singer independently inflated her booking fees by over 300%.
“All the allegations are false! Why are the allegations shifting? In all your statements and correspondences, you have never accepted to submit yourself to a mutual independent financial audit for the period the booking line was with you.
“Did you divert funds or not? Did you independently inflate your booking fees by over 300% then and blame it on the label?,” Eezee Tee said.
He also denied sponsoring rumours about the Chinwo’s son, stating that “there is no crown for a Christian who destroys another.
“If I didn’t care about the Body of Christ, I wouldn’t have gone to meet these people. But what did I hear? ‘He’s running everywhere because he’s scared.’ Every time I put forward an approach to a peaceful resolution, it was communicated as weakness.
“Until I heard a statement that got me sad when one of our pastors said to me, ‘Stop bothering about the body of Christ, we will deal with you and the body of Christ will be okay.’ That was when I knew it was a scripted and orchestrated conspiracy and witch-hunting,” Eezee Tee alleged.
