In Nasarawa State, gunmen suspected of kidnapping Ismaila Konga, former Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).
Konga was kidnapped along with two others on his way from Akwanga town, the headquarters of Akwanga Local Government Area, to his country home, Andaha, where he lives with his family, on Monday evening.
According to a family source, the gunmen set up a roadblock on the Akwanga-Jos federal highway between Ningo village and Andaha, where they ambushed their victims.
“They set up a roadblock and opened fire on travelers, then our brother ran into them and they whisked him away along with Mallam Sule Coach, who works with the Primary Health Care Department, one other person, and killed a Hilux driver who also ran into them.”

DSP Ranham Nansel, the Nasarawa State Police Command’s Spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
“I don’t have these details,” Nansel replied, “but I will revert as soon as I get them.”
