Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has revealed why he and his record label boss, Olamide had an argument.

The ‘Peru’ crooner said he and the YBNL boss had a disagreement over the arrangement of songs on his sophomore album, ‘Apollo’ which was released in 2020.

Speaking in a recent interview with Cool FM Nigeria, Lagos, Fireboy said ‘Apollo’ is his favourite album because the project is “personal.”

He said, “‘Apollo’ is my favorite album because when I was making the album, I knew it was my one chance to really express myself.

“When I was arranging the songs, myself and Olamide had an argument. Olamide was like, ‘Why 17 songs? The attention span is like…’ I said, ‘Baddo, I feel like this is my one chance to really do what I really want on a body of work before the pressure sets in. Before it gets to the point where they will say an album needs to be 10 songs before can listen to. Just let me do my wish and get this one out on the way.’

“It is such a personal album. It’s the one album I keep going back to when I’m in the mood. It was the album where I was truly, really honest.”
