Kano Governor Abba Yusuf has settled 50 percent registration fee for 1,740 newly matriculated Students of Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education Kano.
Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf made this known during the Maiden Matriculation ceremony at the varsity in Kano.
The settlement of the admission and registration fees of the students was for everybody without regards to political party affiliation, the Commissioner said.
According to him, the State Government resolved to slash half of the total school fees of secondary and tertiary Institutions, saying the gesture was to allow less privileged children acquire education.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Bunkure, said the State Government means well for education because of the benefits from it.
He commended Governor Yusuf for his commitment to the advancement of education in Kano, adding that his dedication to improving the educational landscape and providing opportunities for the youth is truly commendable.
The VC said the Sa’adatu Rimi University has made giant strides in the pursuit of academic excellence.
