Vincent Uba, the National Coordinator of the 2023 No Alternative to Tinubu, Shettima, has denounced the comments that followed the Federal Government’s declaration that certain institutions will be moving out of the Federal Capital Territory.

This followed the recent report that the government would relocate the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria from its headquarters in Abuja to Lagos.

A similar announcement was made for the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Uba stated on Saturday hat there was no big deal in the relocation of these government agencies, stressing that the criticisms were a debate of calumny.

He described the act of faulting the government’s decision as politically motivated.

He said, “In every civilised and developed clime, headquarters and all departments of the Federal Government agencies are not necessarily cited in the federal capital. They are located where they have comparative advantage, where there is ease of administration and less logistic costs.

Uba added that the idea for relocation was to ensure the agencies live up to their expectations.

“This President, with his profession and wealth of experience, knows that for agencies and parastatals to function optimally, certain frameworks and structures must be put right, hence an obvious need to relocate some of these agencies or departments to where they have a comparative advantage.

Speaking further, he advised that rather than input tribal sentiments to sound administrative changes, the people should be concerned about the long-term overall results.
