The North West Zonal Women Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Aisha Ahmed Kaita, has resigned from her position.

Aisha, who made the announcement during a press conference in Kano on Tuesday, stated that her resignation was voluntary and that she remained a member of the party.

She explained that her decision was prompted by the lack of inclusion of her supporters in the NNPP government in Kano since its formation.

She said, “I informed the National Leader of NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, of my intention to step down from my position as North West zonal women leader. He asked me if there was a problem for my action, but I told him I was still a member of the party but that I needed to step down from the zonal women leader position.”

She expressed her loyalty to Senator Kwankwaso, stating that she had been a staunch supporter of his across various political parties, including APC, PDP and NNPP.
