The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused opposition parties of inciting unsuspecting youngsters to protest following the rallies that erupted in Minna, Niger State’s capital, and Kano State on Monday over the country’s suffering.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, insisted that the Monday protests in Minna and Kano were a manifestation of the scheme.

He claimed that portraying the ruling party as underperforming sprang from desperation.

“In their desperate attempt to portray the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration as underperforming, opposition parties have resorted to inciting unsuspecting young people to protest in the streets of some major cities.”

“The protests in Minna and Kano on Monday were the manifestation of this devious and unpatriotic plot. The fact that the protests occurred simultaneously in both locations is not a coincidence.

“It bears the clear stamp of an intentional and concerted effort to sow discord and destabilize the government. “This mercenary opposition tactic poses a clear and present threat to public peace and national security,” he stated.

Morka, while stating that the ruling party supports citizens’ freedom to peaceful protest, advised the public to remain vigilant and not allow the opposition to foster societal conflict by fiery speech and manipulative scheming.

He stated that President Bola Tinubu’s administration was fully dedicated to doing everything in its power to alleviate the temporary pains of vital changes critical to economic recovery and long-term prosperity for all Nigerians.

The spokeswoman stated that as decent citizens, we must all support the government in this great endeavor.

He emphasized that these policy measures will eventually result in a long-term favorable transformation of the country’s material conditions.

He urged Nigerians to reject attempts by opposition figures to undermine the country for political gain.
