Tragically, Richard Idowu, a well-known Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member in Osun State, was killed while competing for the party’s candidacy for a House of Representatives seat. He was murdered and killed last Saturday night during a meeting with other politicians and residents in an abandoned apartment on the outskirts of Ejigbo town. Ade Ori Okin was widely recognized.
In the midst of all of this, someone else was shot and killed in a neighboring forested area near the house where the politician was killed.
The Commissioner of Police has been given orders by Governor Ademola Adeleke to look into the event thoroughly and find the people who killed the people. Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the state’s information commissioner, has asked residents to maintain their composure and reassured them that the incident will be thoroughly investigated and that those responsible will face appropriate punishment.

The source claims that the police have detained one suspect who is connected to the PDP chieftain’s murders. According to a different source, Bello Mohammed, a suspected kidnapper connected to Nabeeha’s and other victims’ murders, has been taken into custody by Nigerian authorities. After Mohammed was captured in Kaduna with N2.25 million thought to be ransom money, he admitted to being a member of a group that kidnapped and killed other victims, including Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar. In addition to praising the police for their efforts in managing the case, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has ordered additional investigations into the situation.
