The Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PAACC) recently held a pre-event press conference to herald its forthcoming Trade Investment Conference/Summit and Exhibition (PAAAC/TICC).
The five-day event, billed for Atlanta, Georgia between September 9 and 13, 2024, according Prof. Toks Onabanjo, Chairman, Pan- African American Chamber of Commerce, will be focusing on shared vision for Africa’s future.
While expressing the organisation’s belief in the power of innovation, technology and collaboration to shape a brighter Africa, Prof. Onabanjo, in a 24-point paper, said the areas of focus of the summit will include: Promotion of Economic Growth, Enhancing Educational Opportunities, Bridging the AI Gap, Fostering International Trade, Strengthening Bilateral Relations between the African continent and the US through discussions on the E1 and E2 trade treaties, and exploring Sustainable Energy Solutions, with focus on the Power Africa Project, specifically, the implementation of smart solar PV systems, such as solar farms on lagoons and creeks in major cities and towns.

This emphasis on sustainable energy, Onabanjo said, aims to address energy needs and promote clean energy solutions.
Other aspects to be addressed include the issue of human trafficking, with a view to combating it; retaining African talent within the continent and harnessing Africa’s demographic advantage.
Some of the other focus areas will include issues of Global warming, Good Governance, Promoting Innovation and Technology, Good Governance, Entrepreneurship and Investment, and Promoting Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
Notably, it will also be an opportunity for sustainable networking opportunities, as it will bring together business leaders, policy makers, investors and entrepreneurs.
It will also focus on talent development and capacity building with an aim to keep Africans with the skills and knowledge needed to drive economic growth and innovation.
According to Otunba Adeniyi Dada, Permanent Representative and Ambassador, Pan African Chamber of Commerce, the organisation is a collection of well-to-do Africans in the diaspora, who have come together to fund the summit, as a give back.
