Suspended Kaduna State women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajia Maryam Suleiman, has been readmitted into the party after a year-long suspension.
Announcing her reabsorption into the ruling party in a press conference at the Kaduna North APC office, the ward and local government chairmen of APC, Aliyu Abdullahi and Suleiman Wada respectively, expressed joy as Maryam was received by members and supporters amidst applause and cheers.
They described the development as positive and a big addition to the party in the run-up to next general elections.
The ward chairman stressed the need for unity among party members, adding that a divided house cannot stand the test of time, which he said prompted the governor in his wisdom to forgive Hajia Suleiman for the interest of the party.
He also attributed the development to the magnanimity of Governor Uba Sani whom he stated found it forgivable in his heart, despite the magnitude of offence committed against him by Maryam Suleiman.
In her response, the women leader, while paying tribute to Governor Uba Sani, describing him as a father figure to all party loyalists and a compassionate leader to all Kaduna people, irrespective of religious, ethnic or party affiliate.
She declared loyalty to the governor, pledging to mobilise support for the party and ensure citizens, especially women embrace the APC wholeheartedly.
She also expressed satisfaction with the performance of Governor Sani since assumption of duty in May 2023, saying all critics had been silent by his excellent performance.
