Governor Nyesom of Wike Wike declares, “I’ll step on toes.”

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has threatened to tear down any houses built in violation of the law in the nation’s capital, regardless of whose property will be impacted.

At a news conference on Monday at the FCT Minister’s office in Garki, Abuja, Wike, who took his oath of office alongside 44 other newly appointed Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, issued the warning.

The FCT Minister stated that all homes built on green spaces or to obstruct the Abuja Masterplan will be torn down, regardless of who owned them or not.

“Shame on all those individuals who are distorting the Abuja Masterplan. It will fall down if you are aware that you have erected somewhere you shouldn’t have.

“Your house must go down, whether you are a minister or an ambassador from any country. If you know you have grown where you were not supposed to grow. We apologise, but those who occupied the green spaces to build must leave; the green spaces must return. According to Wike, if you despise green, you must despise yourself.

Wike responded, “Say the truth, you don’t like individuals who step on toes. I’ll trip people up.

“The powerful will feel my footfall. It was noted that his goal was to restore the FCT to what it once was, rather than to act as a witch hunt against anyone, and that if you are doing what is wrong, I will do what I am meant to do.
