Nearly three years after his passing, Nigerian artist Owodunni Ibrahim, better known by his stage name Primeboy, has made a heartfelt public plea for the burial of his close friend, the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, commonly known as Mohbad.
Recall that on September 12, 2023, Mohbad passed away under dubious circumstances and has been in the mortuary ever since.
After being buried on September 13, 2023, he was dug up on September 21 so that an autopsy could be performed on him. He has been in the morgue ever since.
Liam is the only kid the singer left behind with his wife, Omawunmi, and his father, Joseph Aloba, has requested that the singer’s bones not be buried until a DNA test is performed to determine the singer’s genuine paternity.
Primeboy urged Mohbad’s family, the people, and the government to see to it that the singer’s remains be interred in a widely shared video.
“Mohbad left us almost three years ago,” he remarked. The mortuary still has his body. I’m pleading with the government, the public, and the family to take our brother to the grave. He ought to be buried with honor.
To ascertain Liam’s paternity, an Ikorodu High Court has mandated that three distinct DNA tests be carried out overseas.
Following the stalling of previous intentions to perform a DNA test, which resulted in delays in settling the dispute between Mohbad’s widow and his family, the court issued the current directive.
Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, and his attorney, Oladayo Ogungbe, appeared in court and claimed that problems with the testing center’s eligibility prevented the first court-approved procedure from moving forward.
Ogungbe informed the court that a new agreement had been reached to prevent future disagreements and to guarantee confidence in the result.
