‘Wike Has Proven Himself as PDP’s National Leader’ – Abati

In spite of the PDP’s ongoing internal strife, former presidential adviser Reuben Abati claims that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has solidified his position as the party’s national leader.

According to reports, Abati made the statement on Monday during Arise Television’s Morning Show, pointing to recent PDP developments that point to a potential return of Wike’s political dominance, especially in light of conflicting court decisions and rival party conventions.

Abati insisted that Wike is still the leading figure in the PDP while citing verdicts from the Court of Appeal and other courts, such as those presided over by Justices Lifu, Omotosho, and Akintola.

The seasoned reporter questioned the legitimacy of competing factions’ conventions, like as the one at Moshood Abiola Stadium, which was purportedly observed by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials.

Despite the uncertainties, Wike seems to have solidified his position within the party, according to Abati, and supporters are beginning to believe that he is now a key figure at the national level.

“Nyesom Wike has established himself as the party’s national leader because it was a victory for his own wing of the party,” he stated.

However, if you look at the rule of law now, which convention is still in effect? If you examine the decisions made by the Court of Justice Lifu, Justice Omotosho, Justice Akintola, and the subsequent court of appeal rulings. They are assessments rather than rubies.

Which of these is currently the accepted convention? The issue is that the INEC, a 13-person delegation headed by a Senior Advocate from Nigeria, attended the convention at the Moshod Abiola stadium.

“So, which one is real now? Therefore, I believe that the People’s Democratic Party will continue to cause a great deal of drama.

However, Wike’s comeback is the least common denominator. He’s made himself known. On the streets, people are referring to him as the party’s national head.

Since the Turaki group has gone all the way to the Supreme Court to ascertain which part of the party is genuine or not, we must wait before drawing any conclusions in this regard.

“What we know that we can cling to is that Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, states that he will hand over the presidency to President Bola Tinubu, just as he has done in the PDP. At the state level, he is likewise acting in this manner.

“There was a lot of ugliness and excitement during the convention weekend, but the PDP as a political party is the joke.”
