BUK Expels 29 Students, Suspend 3 Over Examination Malpractices

A total of 29 students have been suspended and three others suspended by the Bayero University Kano (BUK) following their alleged involvement in examination misconduct in the last academic session.

 

The management of the school also said three students were suspended for one or two semesters while three others were exonerated following non establishment of misconduct against them.

 

A statement by the Ag. Director, Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records, Aminu Kurawa, a copy of which was made available to LEADERSHIP stated that both undergraduate and postgraduate were affected in the exercise.

 

“The Senate at its 413 meeting held on 3rd July, 2024, expelled 29 students, rusticate 3 and warned 15 others for being found involved in examination misconduct.

 

“The decision was in accordance with General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR) and of General Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies (GRGPS) respectively,” the statement noted.
