Contrary to speculations of a rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president has reinstated his commitment to the ruling party’s flag bearer’s campaign ahead of this month’s presidential election.
Addressing an APC presidential campaign rally in Nasarawa State, President Buhari vowed to continue campaigning for the party’s candidate.
“I congratulate you and I can assure you we are going to win through and through; I’ll continue to campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He’s a committed Nigerian and I believe he’ll give all he has to this country and you Nigerians. I thank you very much,” the president said.
Recall that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike recently claimed that a cabal in Aso Rock is backing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar for the presidency.
His claims came days after Tinubu alleged that some elements in the Presidential Villa were working against his presidential ambition, adding that the current fuel scarcity and naira redesign policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, was targeted at him.
