According to the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, her office has given the President-elect’s wife, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, pertinent documents.

The departing First Lady revealed that the office records will be used as indicators of the office’s success on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Mrs. Buhari, who served as the primary host for all the spouses of African heads of state, also gave the new First Lady the seal of the African First Ladies Peace Mission.

Although the First Lady’s position is unconstitutional, Mrs. Buhari said, “we enjoy the goodwill of the citizens in order to carry out some basic things, like humanitarian activities.”

This marks the first formal engagement and change in the First Lady’s office, according to reports.

Mrs. Buhari added, “We collaborate with many non-governmental organisations to assist our citizens, and I have benefited from their goodwill for the past eight years.

“In order to help you and show you the NGOs that we have worked with, I have prepared a handover,” the speaker said.

In response, Mrs. Tinubu thanked the First Lady for her kind words. She used her as an example of outstanding leadership. She also praised her for how she had handled a number of situations.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart because you don’t enter this role and claim to be an expert, she said.

“We guarantee that you will be pleased with the work we complete.”

Between 1999 and 2007, Mrs. Tinubu held the position of former first lady of Lagos State for eight years.

She is currently a senatorial representative. She will resuming performing her official responsibilities as First Lady of Nigeria on May 29.
