Ian Wright, a legend of Arsenal, has taken aim at Jamie Caragher, Gary Neville, and Rio Ferdinand, among other pundits, for criticizing Martin Odegaard and the Gunners’ post-match celebrations following their victory over Liverpool on Sunday.
In a Premier League match at Emirates, Arsenal defeated Liverpool 3-1 with goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Bukayo Saka.
During and after the game, there were raucous celebrations, and Carragher chastised Odegaard for photographing club photographer Stuart MacFarlane.
Ferdinand also criticized Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for “doing laps of the ground” and celebrating as if his team had won the league, while Neville thought the celebrations were an indication of immaturity.
Wright, who was present at the game, was not amused by the criticism, though.
“The negativity towards my manager man, what has he done apart from celebrating a goal and his team?” Wright responded in a video post on X to all of the criticism.
Honoring a group that is attempting to defeat Manchester City and Liverpool, two formidable teams.
“And because it’s his birthday? since Stuart, the photographer, is posing for a photo with Martin Odegaard? a Gunner for life. This man has been an Arsenal fan since he was five years old, or some ridiculous age.
“What’s wrong with the captain taking a picture in front of the north bank?
