A distinguished Islamic scholar, Sheik Abubakar Hassan Mada, was allegedly killed by operatives of a Zamfara State safety outfit, Group Safety Guards (CPG).
The incident occurred when the CPG operatives reportedly stormed Sheik Mada’s residence, picked him up, and took him to an unknown vacation spot for questioning relating to some undisclosed safety points.
In response to a resident of Mada city who spoke anonymously, the CPG operatives arrived at Sheik Mada’s residence round 3:30 pm whereas he was instructing kids.
They then took him just a few meters exterior the city and allegedly slaughtered him.
“They got here on to his residence at round 3:30 pm when he was busy instructing our youngsters and took him away. In lower than half-hour, we solely heard that they slaughtered him,” the resident mentioned.
Efforts to achieve the state Commandant of CPG, Col. Yandoto (Rtd) weren’t profitable as on the time of compiling the report.
The funeral prayers for the late Sheik Mada have been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
