Nigerian wrestlers have departed Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, their preparatory base forward of the thirteenth African Video games.
The 20-man contingent, led by the president of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali left the Port Harcourt Airport for Abuja on Tuesday.
The wrestlers and their officers will then depart the nation for Accra, Ghana on Wednesday.
Igali is optimistic the wrestlers will do effectively on the video games.
“That is the African Video games and as you realize our athletes have been in coaching camp right here in Yenagoa and I feel the expectation we now have from the athletes is for everybody to offer their greatest efforts,” he said.
“We consider that the work we’ve finished previously few weeks with 100% efficiency would carry good fruits to Nigeria.”
The captain of the Nigeria Wrestling crew, Olympic silver medalist Blessing Oborodudu said her want to make Nigeria proud along with her efficiency.
“Going for the African Video games my expectation is to carry out my 100% greatest and by the particular grace of God I’ll defend my title which is the gold medal.”
An African Video games debutant, Ashton Mutuwa 125kg expressed confidence in giving an excellent account of himself regardless of making his first look on the African Video games.
