According to Dr. Anugbum Onuoha, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Edo State, the Commission solely oversaw the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary, which was held at the Lushville Hotel and Suites, on Monday.

This was revealed by the REC at a Benin City press briefing.

Reporter remembers that while results were being tallied and announced, political goons broke into the Lushville Hotel and Suite, disrupting the exercise, attacking journalists, and destroying their equipment.

The APC electoral officers were also beaten by the thugs.

The Supreme Court made a decision regarding party primary monitoring, as the REC pointed out.

The national body will notify the national chairman of INEC of the primary’s location, date, and time, which we adhered to religiously.

“We will not monitor any political party primaries that our headquarters did not minute.

“We watched the one we were invited to, which was at the Lushville Hotel, after we received notification from APC. That’s where I went, and I was there,” he declared.
