For the project named “Data Collection Survey on Transport and Logistics Sector in Nigeria,” the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has promised to assist the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
When a delegation from JICA led by Mr. Yamauchi visited the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency Headquarters in Abuja yesterday, this information was made public.
The JICA survey project endeavours to aggregate data and proffer suggestions for enhancing transportation infrastructure, fortifying policies, and elevating service standards by operators primarily in port, land, and water transport.
The delegation’s leader claims that FERMA, a significant player in the road transport industry, is required to supply data for the JICA survey, including maps illustrating road conditions and their summary tables, as well as information on the road network and its key issues.

The Agency appreciates JICA’s interest in the Nigerian market, according to Acting Managing Director of FERMA Engr. Ini L. Usoro, who also expressed FERMA’s willingness to collaborate with the team from data collection to turning collected data into actionable information for the nation’s road sector.
The Managing Director stated that the support for JICA will strengthen the already strong relationship between the two countries in a statement signed by Assistant Director (information) Iyogun Asobumeh Sunday for Director (Communication and Public Relations).
