Lionel Richie was nominated in the outstanding documentary/non fiction special for executive producing âThe Greatest Night in Popâ, which earned two other nominations. Richie has won an Oscar and four Grammys.
âBilly Joel: The 100thLive at Madison Square Gardenâ earned four nominations, including Outstanding Variety Special (Recorded), for the singer who has won five Grammys and a Tony Award.
Singer and actress, Selena Gomez received double nominations for Only Murders In The Building. One, for the Outstanding Lead Actress in the comedy series, and the second as one of the executive producers of the series in the Outstanding Comedy Series Category. Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino earned acting, writing and producing bids for Mr & Mrs Smith.
âThe Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show Starring Usherâ, earned three nominations, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
Hans Zimmer (of Gladiator fame) earned three Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for âLove Will Surviveâ from the film The Tattooist of Auschwitz. His competition in the category includes Maya Rudolph for her Saturday Night Liveâs âMaya Rudolphâs Motherâs Day Monologueâ; and Sara Bareilles for The Medium Time from Girls5eva; and John Hawkes âNo Useâ from True Detective: Night Country. Whilst Emmy and Grammy-winning Duo Pasek & Paul completes the nominees for âWhich of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?â, from Only Murders In The Building.
Lady Gagaâs Gaga Chromatica Ball, Bruce Springsteen Curb Your Enthusiasm and Bad Bunny from Saturday Night Live were all snubbed; while singer, The Weekndâs heavily criticized series The Idol received a surprising nomination for Outstanding Choreography for Scripted Programming for choreographer Nina McNeely.
