Sultan of Sokoto announces beginning of Ramadan, confirms sighting of moon

The Sultan of Sokoto and President Basic of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’advert Abubakar, has introduced the graduation of Ramadan in Nigeria.

This adopted the Sultan of Sokoto confirming the sighting of moon to begin the Ramadan season.

This was disclosed by the Sultane in a submit on X which reads: “The Sultanate has confirmed a single sighting declare and His Eminence the Sultan will quickly make an announcement. Ramadan Mubarak.”

That is coming when Saudi Arabia introduced the sighting of the crescent moon signifying the start of the Holy month of Ramadan.

The moon was noticed on Sunday night.

This implies March 10 is the final day of the month of Sha’ban and the holy month will start on Monday, March 11.

Ramadan, decided by the lunar Islamic calendar during which months span both 29 or 30 days, commences and concludes based mostly on the sighting of the crescent moon.
