Following their release from captors at Ningi Local Government Area in Bauchi State on Friday night, the two wives of the Chairman of Kiyawa Local Government in Jigawa State have been allowed to return home.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, DSP Lawan Adam Shiisu, the Jigawa State Police Command’s public relations officer, verified the wives of the chairman who had been kidnapped.
“The kidnappers in Ningi LGA, Bauchi State, have freed the two wives of Kiyawa LG Chairman.
Within the announcement, DSP Shiitu stated, “They had since been reunited with their family members.”
The police spokesperson refrained from disclosing if the two women were freed before the ransom was paid.
On Friday evening, gunmen broke into the Kiyawa Local Government Chairman’s home in Jigawa State and abducted his two wives.
