Nigeria has recorded 5 incidents of vandalization of nationwide electrical energy belongings between February and March 2024.
The Transmission Firm of Nigeria disclosed this in a press release by its Supervisor of Public Affairs, Mbah Ndidi, reacting to the vandalization of the Shiroro-Katampe Transmission Line.

Different incidents embrace the vandalism of towers 377 and 378 alongside the Gombe-Damaturu 330kV transmission line on February 23, 2024, and the assault on towers 145 to 149 and 201 to 218 alongside the Owerri-Ahoda 132kV transmission line on February 15, 2024.
Moreover, on February 1, 2024, Tower quantity 388 alongside the Jos-Bauchi 132kV single circuit transmission line collapsed as a consequence of vandalism.
TCN had described the incidents as financial sabotage. The corporate urged safety businesses and communities to collaborate in apprehending the perpetrators.
