According to Mr. Dele Alake, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Rotimi Akeredolu, the previous governor of Ondo, fought to firmly establish genuine federalism.

In a sympathy message to his family, the Ondo people, and other loved ones on Thursday, the minister praised Akeredolu.

Remember that on Wednesday, Gov. Akeredolu passed away at a hospital in Germany? He was sixty-seven years old.

According to Alake, the departed made a name for himself as a fearless and unwavering champion of the rights of the Ondo people and the Yoruba people.

“The passing of a brother, friend, and indeed one of the progressive movement’s leaders has left me terribly shocked.

As the state’s governor, he placed the wellbeing of the populace at the centre of government.

He remarked, “We are comforted by the fact that he left an indelible mark in the political firmament. Nigeria has lost a titan.”
