On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu declared that democracy needed to be inclusive and progressive, with a major goal of combating poverty by giving young people access to employment opportunities and high-quality education for all Nigerian children.

On Thursday in Lagos, Tinubu gave his support for the creation of the National Institute of Progressive Studies when he met with members of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) National Working Committee (NWC).

The President stated that in addition to providing the party with a unique character, the Institute is supposed to conduct thorough study and instruct all party members on the values of democracy and good administration.

“While democracy has had difficulties in the past, I think our nation has a bright future ahead of us. We’ll deliver it.

“I pledge to stand for a robust, ideologically driven democracy that is inclusive, progressive, and centred on ending poverty while offering our kids a top-notch education.

“I applaud the leadership of our party for working hard to promote these fundamental ideals, and I believe that collaboration with various arms of government is crucial,” the President said.
