In its petition to the Presidential Election Petition Court, the Allied Peoples Movement has stated that it will call one witness to give testimony.
The party announced that it would only call one witness, whose testimony would take place over the course of three days.
According to the agreed-upon witness streamlining, APM’s attorney, Mr. Shehu Abubakar, reported to the court that the star witness would give the evidence-in-chief in 20 minutes, cross-examination would take 25 minutes, and re-examination would take five minutes.
According to Abubakar, the parties exchanged documents that each party would rely on.
For his part, the Independent National Electoral Commission’s legal representative claimed that the electoral body was not given a formal invitation to the meeting between the petitioner and the respondents.
He claimed that the commission only had one witness to call in support of this petition and would need that day to do so.
The APC added that it would take five days to call one witness for this petition after stating that it largely agreed with the petitioner’s report.
Sen. Bola Tinubu and Mr. Kashim Shettima’s legal counsel, Mr. Akin Olujimi, SAN, announced that he would call three witnesses, with two of them being subpoenaed.
He continued by saying that his defense would take four days to prepare.
He estimated that it would take him 25 minutes to cross-examine the key witness.
The fifth defendant’s attorney, Mr. Kabiru Masari, informed the court that he would call one witness and need one day to present his case.
The court set Tuesday for delivery of its decision in the case.
