The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to conduct mock accreditation of eligible voters in the three senatorial districts of Osun State.

This was announced in a statement issued on Monday in Osogbo by the Osun State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mutiu Agboke, who said the mock accreditation exercise would come up on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Agboke said, “This is to inform the general public that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in preparation for a hitch free 2023 general election in Osun State will be conducting Mock Accreditation of eligible voters on Saturday, February 4, 2023 in six (6) Local Government Areas of the State, two (2) Registration Areas/Wards across the Three (3) Senatorial Districts”.

He explained that the exercise would enable the commission to analyse the performance of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) before the general elections.

While urging voters to come for their PVCs, he assured that the people’s vote would count and the winner would be the choice of the electorate, stressing that the 2023 general elections would not be cancelled or postponed.
