Rita Odichi, a former member of the House of Representatives, has asked the court to restrain the police from investigating her on allegations that she possessed a fake WAEC result that she used to contest the elections in 2015 and 2023. Justice Bello Kawu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has adjourned the case until June 28. In the suit, Odichi is asking the court to prevent the police from investigating her on these allegations.

In the election held in 2015, Odichi ran on the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in order to compete for the seat of the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency. He also ran for the same office in the election held in 2023, allegedly using a fake WAEC result.
Between the years 2015 and 2019, Odichi served in the green chamber.
She was invited for questioning by the police, but she declined the invitation and instead went to court to enforce a restraining order and fundamental human rights. The court granted her request to enforce the restraining order and fundamental human rights.
