Clarets Avoid Defeat

Burnley have put together a four-match unbeaten run. It might be too little too late for Vincent Kompany’s team, but they are playing their best football of the season and have a puncher’s chance of avoiding relegation.

Despite their points deduction, Everton have been competitive this season. However, their recent stats don’t make for pretty reading. The Toffees are on a 13-match winless slump, which is the worst active streak in the league.

Burnley have picked up only 10 points from 15 road matches in 2023-24. That record contributes to the price on the Clarets to avoid defeat. Still, it’s worth noting they have drawn at the London Stadium and Stamford Bridge in their last two away fixtures.

We are riding with Burnley’s uptick in form here to back this market at odds of 2.25. Everton might have won the last two head-to-head meetings, but Burnley’s recent performances give us confidence.

Bet 1: Draw or Burnley @ 2.25 Bet9ja

Draw-Heavy Burnley Share Spoils Again

Burnley have drawn three of their last four matches. Only three teams have drawn more matches than Everton this season. While season-long metrics generally tab Everton as the favourites here, the last month or so paints a different picture.

Burnley have quietly been finding their groove. Draws away to West Ham and Chelsea show they are comfortable going on the road, while Everton’s home crowd has hardly been an advantage.

The Toffees have only had three home wins all season and they have failed to win in their last five matches at Goodison Park. There’s a tense, hostile atmosphere in the blue half of Merseyside at the moment.

Burnley, in contrast, are playing with relative freedom. Still, with an uphill battle to avoid the drop, the Clarets have little to lose and can go for the win on Saturday afternoon. They might not have the quality to take all three points, but we like Burnley to score and take a point from Goodison.

A Low-Scoring Match Inevitable

Everton have gone under 2.5 total goals more frequently than any other Premier League team. Sean Dyche’s teams have a reputation for being in low-scoring matches, and that hasn’t changed during his Goodison spell.

While Burnley are a different team to the one Dyche departed, Vincent Kompany’s side are still involved in plenty of low-scoring games. Despite a leaky defence, the Clarets have gone under this game total in 12 of their 31 matches this term.

Their previous league meeting saw just two goals scored. Burnley have regularly been finding the net lately, but Everton know a draw would be a decent result. This could be a cagey 90 minutes, with the Goodison crowd on edge.

Bet 3: Under 2.5 total goals @ 2.03 Bet9ja

Plenty of Corners

Burnley’s matches average a total of 10.9 corners. For Everton, the number is 10.7. The line being set at 10.5 for this match seems reasonable enough as a result, though there were as many as 14 corners when these teams last faced-off.

Both teams concede more corners than they win, which isn’t surprising given the usual pattern of play in their matches. Still, we are going to see both teams commit men forward here, and that could lead to plenty of blocked crosses and shots.

Given the number of corners in their last matchup, we feel comfortable taking the over in what should be a very even match.

Bet 4: Over 10.5 corners @ 2.01 Bet9ja
