The Sultan of Sokoto and President Basic of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’advert Abubakar, has revealed the unreported position the late Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe performed throughout his lifetime that was not recognized to many.
Abubakar stated he was patriotic and contributed to unity, progress and peaceable co-existence amongst folks of varied ethnic and spiritual backgrounds in Nigeria, apart being a recognized philanthropist of excessive reputation.
The Sultan made this revelation by way of a condolence letter addressed to “The Household of Late Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, CFR, Lagos”, dated February 15, 2024 and was delivered to the daddy of the deceased, Elder Shyngle Wigwe by a high-powered delegation led by Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, in Lagos on Friday.
Abubakar, who has stopped at nothing to see all Nigerians throughout ethnic and spiritual boundaries succeeding collectively in peace and unity, stated it was a touching “tragic lack of Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, his spouse Chizoba and son Herbert Jnr in a helicopter crash in United States on Friday, February 9, 2024.”
Addressing the Wigwe household within the letter, the Sultan described the demise as “an important loss not solely to you, the quick household, however to your complete nation, the company world and humanity generally.
“We share in your grief as you mourn the passing of an internationally acknowledged businessman and a philanthropist of excessive reputation.
“He shall be remembered for his patriotism of unity, progress, peaceable coexistence, and financial growth of our nice nation Nigeria,” the letter learn.
