High cost of living: Osun youths take to streets of Osogbo in protest

Since the start of 2024, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Kaduna State Command, has detained 92 suspects and found 217.02 kg of illegal substances.

The revelation was made on Friday in Kaduna by Mr. Samaila Danmalam, the state commander of the NDLEA.

He claims that there are four female and 88 male suspects.

He went on to say that methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, Indian hemp, and tramadol were among the drugs that had been found.

According to the commander, during that time, 19 illegal drug raids were conducted by NDLEA agents in the state.

According to him, the order resulted in the conviction of 24 suspects and the charging of 25 during that time.

“In its efforts to reduce drug demand, seven drug addicts were successfully rehabilitated and 29 drug users received counseling.”

“Education campaigns were conducted at multiple locations with the aim of discouraging the general public from engaging in illicit drug use and trafficking, with a target population of 6,956 participants,” he stated.
