Hon. Akpanke, other host PDP stakeholders, welcome defectors from LP, APC in Cross River North

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State, today held a post Election Stakeholders meeting to interface with party leaders, Elders, youths and supporters.

The meeting presented an avenue for elected office holders and Party leaders to thank party faithfuls for their contributions to the electoral successes of the party and their continuous commitment to the party in the Senatorial district and state in general as the sum of N62 million was distributed to the 54 wards of the Senatorial District by the lawmakers.

In a major boost to the party’s stands in the Senatorial district, the party received Thousands of Defectors from the All Progressives Congress(APC) and Labour Party(LP) in grand style at the Sen Jarigbe Agom mini stadium.

Speaking at the defection rally, The state chairman of PDP, Barr. Vena Ikem, Sen Jarigbe Agom, Hon. Godwin Offiono , Hon. Chief Peter Akpanke amongst other leaders of the party, took turns to welcome the Defectors, promising them a prosperous future under the Umbrella Party (PDP).

The Defectors led by Mr. Joseph Ogbaji (OGB) in their seperate speeches, promised to remain committed to PDP. They cited the numerous projects of Sen. Jarigbe, Hon. Offiono and Hon. Peter Akpanke as the motivation behind their move.

Some leaders in attendance include, Hon. Omang C. Omang, Hon. Chief Pius Ashakia, Hon. Martins Achadu PhD, Hon. Rita Agbo Ayim , Barr. DC Enamhe PhD, Chief Austine Austin Edibe , party leaders and many others.

In his philanthropic gesture, Hon. Akpanke also visited the Muslim faithfuls in Bekwarra Local Government Area, where he urged them to embrace peace, tolerance and love. He offered cash and food items to enable them to celebrate the season.
