A FORMER presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, says he is happy with the country’s suspension of Twitter.

Garba had called for the removal of the American microblogging service from Nigeria’s internet space for deleting President Buhari’s tweet.

Recall that a tweet made by the President was deleted from the app on Wednesday.

President Buhari’s tweet had raised eyebrows over his reference to the past civil wars.

In his tweet  on Thursday, Garba had said, ”Twitter has no right to infuse into our local political affairs. It’s a company not a government.

“By removing our democratically elected President’s speech to the people of Nigeria, Twitter need to shutdown from Nigerian internet space. Twitter need to get out of Nigeria.”

Speaking to Channels TV today after the Federal Government’s ban on the platform, he said ” Yea  I’m happy. It clearly shows that actions can not happen without consequences”.
