After a string of poor results, the management of Kano Pillars football club has announced the immediate suspension of the team’s technical adviser, Abdul Maikaba.

The suspension was conveyed in a press statement issued by the management yesterday in Kano.

The management committee of the club said the decision to suspend Maikaba was taken following the formation of a committee that will investigate the performance of the coach and recommend further action.

It will be recalled that Maikaba was said to have made some recent unfriendly statements about the management during a meeting organized by the Kano Pillars supporters at the state press centre Kano.

This action of the management comes days after the former Enugu Rangers gaffer also stated that he has not had a proper working environment since taking over at the beginning of the current season.

He was quoted as saying “I need a conducive environment to work. The current environment is not conducive in Kano. I’m discussing with the management in days.

“If it warrants terminating the contract, I will do that,” Maikaba stated after Kano Pillars defeated Enugu Ranged 6-5 on penalties in the Federation Cup round of 64 tie in Abuja.
