The Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, praised the All Progressive Congress (APC) primary poll as being very peaceful, well-run, and successful.

This was said by Bello in a statement made shortly after the election by his chief press secretary, Onogwu Mohammed.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Zamfara State Governor Mohammed Bello-Matawale oversaw the Direct Mode primary election, which was held in all 239 wards.

The election was fairly orderly and rancor-free in the majority of the locations visited, according to the NAN correspondent who monitored it.

The behaviour of the party members was incredibly admirable and well-organized at Gegu Community in the Kogi Local Government Area, Anyigba in the Dekina LGA, and Mopa in the Yagba West LGA.

The governor stated, “We are extremely relieved that the Kogi East, Kogi Central, and Kogi West Senatorial Districts have not reported any incidents of violence or a crisis.

“We have prayed since the very beginning that the primary election of our great party this time be free from any crisis or violence to reflect the will and aspirations of the people.

Bello urged APC members and supporters to respect the results of the primary election, which will be revealed shortly by the Zamfara Governor-led election committee.

He urged everyone, especially party members, to respect the results of the primary in order to advance and win the state’s governorship race on November 11.

According to Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the information commissioner, the primary election was “very peaceful” and “encouraging” due to the maturity shown by party members throughout the state.

Fanwo urged Kogi residents to exhibit the same level of decorum and maturity that he claimed was displayed during the free, fair, credible, and successful primary election.

He congratulated the Matawale-led Primary Election Committee, INEC officials, and security personnel for helping the APC primary in the state run smoothly. (NAN)
