Adewale Adeyinka, the goalie for Kwara United, feels that the Nigeria Premier Football League, or NPFL, will always be remembered for Stanley Nwabali’s valiant performance at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Because of the achievement, Adeyinka predicted that the majority of NPFL players will follow in his footsteps.
He went on to say that over 250 million Nigerians were made smiles by Nwabali’s bravery, guts, and commitment.
“Reaching the final alone is a great milestone, Nwabali has put the NPFL on the map now and most of our colleagues will possibly follow his footsteps abroad because of his heroics, we want to say a million prayers and massive support to Stanley, your grace shall never end and you will come back singing praises to the most high with the trophy in your hands,” Adeyinka wrote on his X handle.
“It is with extreme pleasure and honour that I congratulate my friend, brother and fellow goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who has become the hero that took our national team to the finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations!
“On behalf of a great number of goalkeepers from the Nigerian Professional Football League, we would love to thank our former colleague for his bravery, courage and determination to put smiles on the faces of over 250 million Nigerians.
“In the midst of all the pressure, there is no pride, making out time to engage in encouraging conversations before and after games, he is a true brother and even more than we could all ask for.”
Nigeria will face Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the AFCON 2023 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday.
