The Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has said that the security agents have arrested those behind the recent attack in the Agojeju-Odo in Omala local government area in the state.

Governor Ododo disclosed this at Okene on Wednesday, shortly after observing Eid prayer to mark the end of 30 days of fasting by the Muslim ummah in the state.

“The crisis in Bagana in Omala Local Government did not start today. It has been in existence for over 45 years ago, precisely 1978. We are doing our best to make sure peace is restored within the area.

”As I speak to you today, the suspected sponsors have been arrested, investigations are ongoing.

“They are giving us useful information that will lead to the arrest of other suspects. As soon as we are done with that investigation, the report will be made known to the public”, he said.

He enjoined the Muslim faithful in the state to abide by the injunctions in the holy Quran and the teaching of the prophet Muhammed (SAW) for Allah to answer their prayers during the period of the 30-day prayers.

Meanwhile, the governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his sincere and purposeful leadership, stressing that the people of Kogi will continue to support his administration in his attempt to proffer solutions to the challenges bedevilling the nation.

“President Bola Tinubu’s efforts at reviving Nigeria are already yielding results. We will continue to support him so that we can get ourselves together out of this inherited economic crisis”, he stressed.
