President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following a successful journey to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he took part in the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28).
President Tinubu met with the UAE president and King Charles of England, among others, in a series of bilateral discussions while attending COP28.
Additionally, President Tinubu was there when Nigeria and Germany signed an accelerated performance agreement meant to enhance Nigeria’s electrical supply.
Though many applauded President Tinubu’s visit at COP28, some questioned the size of the Nigerian delegation, which included more than 1,400 registered attendees, according to reports. Reiterating that only 422 people were formally financed by the state, the government justified the delegation’s size.
In preparation for the summit that is scheduled to conclude on December 12, 2023, Tinubu left Abuja on November 29, 2023, sailing for Dubai.
