Two remanded for allegedly killing police corporal

An Abakaliki Magistrates’ Court docket on Wednesday, remanded two males, Anthony Odeh and Amadi Chibuike in a correctional centre for allegedly killing a police corporal.

Odeh, 40 and Chibuike, 34, are dealing with a two-count cost of homicide and conspiracy.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Bassey Okon knowledgeable the court docket that the defendants dedicated the offences on February 10 at Ohaukwu Native Authorities Space of Ebonyi.

Okon mentioned Odey conspired with Chibuike and others now at massive to kill a serving police corporal, Emeka Kelvin whose drive quantity is: F/No 518032.

The prosecutor mentioned the offences had been punishable beneath part 319 (1) of the Felony Code cap.33, vol. 1 legal guidelines of Ebonyi State, Nigeria.

The plea of the defendants was not taken.

Counsel to the defendants, Mr C. O Okpere prayed the court docket to grant them bail.

The prosecutor opposed the bail software and urged the court docket to remand the defendants in a correctional centre.

Justice of the Peace Ojemba Isu-Oko rejected the bail software and remanded the defendants in a correctional centre.

He mentioned the case file and all displays needs to be forwarded to the Division of Public Prosecution for authorized recommendation.

He adjourned the matter till April 5.
