The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) return of Francis Sheriff Oborevwori as the governor of Delta State in the March 18, 2023, governorship election has been accepted by the APC’s Delta State chapter.

Elder Omeni Sobotie, the APC Chairman in Delta State, signed a statement that included this information.

Additionally, the APC praised Oborevwori on his legal success.

As per the APC, “Let’s be clear. The APC, which is Delta State’s principal opposition party, will continue to be a lighthouse of responsibility and steadfast in pressing the government to align its policies with the rule of law, equity, and good governance for the benefit of our people.

“We will take all required steps to eliminate political arbitrariness and safeguard the rights of our people.

“Our governor’s running mate, Obarisi Senator Ovie Omo Agege, has responded to the Supreme Court’s ruling promptly by issuing a press release that upholds the ruling in an admirable display of leadership candor and humility.

Along with wishing His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori well, he also quite rightly complimented him on the court ruling. As a party, we wholeheartedly support this courageous act of democratic leadership.

“All of us own Delta State. To create it for current and future generations, we must all work together. We urge all Deltans to do everything within their power to maintain peace, security, and togetherness in our beloved state in the context of the aforementioned.

The Delta State APC expresses its heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support, direction, and shown dedication to upholding the separation of powers and the rule of law.

“For their steadfast leadership, we owe a great deal to the National Working Committee and His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of our esteemed party.

“We are extremely proud of our deputy president of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo Agege, who is running for governor. He went above and beyond to organize the Delta voters to support our party with resounding enthusiasm.”

“Our party accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time in Delta State because to his unwavering optimism, charismatic ability to unite people, and other strong leadership qualities. We ask God to give him and the Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi, his running mate, greater virtue so they can lead with resourcefulness on all fronts.

“We are grateful to every leader, member, and supporter of our outstanding party for their tireless efforts to strengthen democracy in our state. We appreciate your support very much. I really appreciate it.
